PLONK & PPoT
Overview
The Perpetual Powers of Tau GitHub repo was started by individuals to help ease the burden of MPC (Multi-Party Computation) requirements for zk-dApp projects. It is performing an ongoing MPC for all circuit phase 1 compilation, allowing developers to use this universal portion of circuit compilation to fast track their circuit compilation and trusted setup process.
Because Pulse In Private used PLONK during it's circuit compilation, it completely avoided the need to perform any additional MPC to remain secure. PLONK compilation is universal and circuit agnostic, it doesn't require a phase 2, which would normally require another MPC.
Participants in PPoT have discarded their toxic waste - meaning there is no possible backdoor to generate a malicious proof that passes verification.
This project's circuit fits within 2^14 constraints, and used the prepared ppot_0080_14.ptau file for phase 1 compilation, which is the only phase that requires an MPC for PLONK.
